Fusion Hospitality is Hiring a Chief Engineer - Hampton Inn Near Vicksburg, MS

JOB OVERVIEW : Supervise the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities and administer the department in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates. Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the hotel’s mechanical/electrical systems and equipment, and for the general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, grounds, swimming pool, etc. as defined by Fusion Hospitality and the brand standards.

Reports To : General Manager

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • · Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventative maintenance and capital planning.
  • · Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts and ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
  • · Direct day-to-day engineering requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • · Perform and assist in overseeing the physical operations of the hotel, including maintenance and repair, and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining green initiatives.
  • · Inspects guest rooms after preventative maintenance. Reviews any problems with maintenance staff and maintains a current inventory of all supplies
  • · Maintains a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders.
  • · Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner. Monitors all deficiencies
  • · Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance.
  • · Educate and train all members in compliance with governmental and safety regulations.
  • · Educates hotel personnel on emergency procedures and safety precautions
  • · Ensure staff is properly trained on quality and service standards and has the tools and equipment and is empowered to carry out job duties in a timely, efficient manner.
  • · Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or re quests to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.
  • · Assists other departments in fulfilling guest requests and resolving guest concerns

  • · Ensures fulfillment of preventative maintenance programs to brand standards including laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers/smoke alarms, plumbing
  • · Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • · Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
  • · Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • · High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Some college or advanced vocational training preferred.
  • · Three years previous experience in a similar position (i.e. general building maintenance, construction, etc.)
  • · Be skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
  • · Must be willing and able to be responsive to complaints about maintenance.
  • · Computer literate
  • · Excellent time management skills
  • · Strong leadership skills
  • · Hotel experience preferred and the ability to exceed expectations of the guests and team members
  • · Supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • · Professional certifications and licenses will be given higher consideration.
  • · Valid driver license required to operate shuttles as needed.
