Fusion Hospitality is Hiring a Bartender Near Tupelo, MS

Prepare, pour and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Requires knowledge of mixology including food and wine pairings, presentation and service. May include waiting tables in the bar area. Job Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Stocks bar and completes other pre-opening requirements.
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
  • Skilled at slowing and refusing alcoholic beverages when necessary.
  • Complies with safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Basic Point of Sale (POS) knowledge.
  • Knowledgeable of all aspects of departmental operations, including events and operating hours.
  • Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Cleans bar and completes all pre-closing requirements.
  • Assures that all state and local laws and regulations and hotel and bar policies for service of alcoholic beverages are always followed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
  • Inspects bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available. Requests additional supplies as necessary.
  • Follows set-up procedures.
  • Collects checks and payments for food and drinks ordered.
  • Reports issues to manager as they occur.
  • Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment.
  • Maintains records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.
  • Cleans and locks the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures.
  • Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring; takes precautions against possible spoilage or waste.
  • Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years previous experience in a similar position.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • POS experience preferred (Micros, Squirrel, etc.).
  • Food safety certification preferred.
  • Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Alcohol beverage certification highly preferred.
