Job Description: Sales Floor Associate

Reports to: Store Manager

Direct Reports: None

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour

Position Philosophy: The duties of the Sales Associate are to drive sales by providing solutions and world class customer service that support Fusek’s Core Values. Yet, outstanding service is not enough. Sales Associates must be capable and comfortable with the Wow Sales Process and strive to have a positive impact on driving up our average Sale. Sales Associates are also responsible for merchandising product, maintaining assigned zones, and support the store management team. An enthusiastic, can do attitude with a personality and approach that strongly represents our Core Values and Expectations is required. Must be solutions oriented, enthusiastic, positive, flexible and a supportive sales focused attitude is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Enthusiastically greet customers and assist customers in locating products within the store, walk them to the product and provide each customer with outstanding service
• Promote the value of the True Value Rewards loyalty program and encourage customers to sign up.
• Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by store management.

· Cooperate with others and work together as part of a retail team. Actively participate and share ideas for improvement with management.

• Other store tasks include inventory, product resets, picking up product (lumber, mulch, etc.) and running cash register when needed.

Expectations:We are hiring for both of our locations Fusek's True Value Downtown is located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Fusek's True Value Hardware East is located on East Washington Street near Washington Square Mall.

• Become proficient and knowledgeable of the products we carry and their location within the store. Know the store layout and location of all department and products within.
• Be a team player. If responsibilities have been completed ask Manager on Duty what else needs to be done. Help others. Our end goal is to have happy customers and it takes all of us to do this.

Minimum Requirements:

The minimum requirements for this position include:

Education/Training:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• along with a willingness to learn.

Experience:

• Sales and/or marketing experience with retail programs or environment, establishing relationships and working with customers.
• Previous experience in a retail environment a plus.
• Trade skill knowledge preferred and a personality that supports our Core Values and mission.

Skills/Knowledge:

• A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills, great attitude and work ethic, and willing to learn and help grow the business.
• Preferred knowledge of products and applications in hardware, building materials, paint, electrical, plumbing, lawn and garden and tools.

Physical Requirements:

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently to unload the True Value truck and load and unload customer’s orders.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to listen, understand and communicate with co-workers and customers both in-person and over the phone.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
