FUNducation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating the next generation of STEAM leaders. We offer a variety of programs and initiatives that ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in students of all ages and backgrounds.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced STEAM Program Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in teaching, career and technical education (CTE), and a strong desire to make a positive impact on STEAM education. The Coordinator will play a key role in the development, implementation, and management of STEAM programs at various venues in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Some travel may be required with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the FUNducation Executive Director to design and deliver high-quality STEAM programs that align with FUNducation’s curriculum standards and promote 21st-century skills to students.
  • Develop and maintain engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to diverse learning styles and age groups.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and staff who assist with program delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community partners, and area STEAM professionals.
  • Oversee program logistics and ensure smooth program operation.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and collect data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Maintain personal STEAM education, staying current on STEAM educational trends and best practices.
  • Assist in promoting FUNducation’s STEAM programs and initiatives to the community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEAM) field or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching or working in a STEAM education setting.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing engaging STEAM curriculums.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for STEAM education and a desire to inspire students.

Bonus points for:

  • Strong understanding of CTE principles and their application to STEAM education.
  • Experience working with a non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of current STEAM education trends and best practices.
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish a plus).

Compensation:

This is a 1099 contractor position with an hourly rate ranging from $30 to $35 an hour with a minimum of 20 hrs up to 40 hrs per week. The specific rate will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Please note that this position does not include benefits typically offered to W-2 employees. Payment will be made bi-weekly.
