Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Automotive Paint Preparer to join our team. As an Automotive Paint Preparer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of automotive paint jobs by preparing surfaces for painting. You will work closely with our painting team to ensure that vehicles receive high-quality finishes that meet our standards and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and priming as necessary.
- Ability to repair & prep fiberglass, aluminum, plastic & steel body panels & components.
- Remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants from surfaces to be painted.
- Repair minor imperfections in vehicle surfaces, such as scratches and dents.
- Mix paints to match vehicle colors accurately.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Prefer 2 years of experience as an automotive paint preparer or in a similar role.
- Manual dexterity & physical stamina, lift heavy objects, & walk & stand for extended periods of time
- Must currently have or be willing to obtain proper tools to successfully complete job duties as assigned
- Established & refined work ethic with close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of automotive painting techniques & materials.
- Ability to use hand & power tools effectively.
- Excellent communication skills & ability to work well in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment & adapt to changing priorities.
- Technical institute education, or equivalent.
