Summary The Technical Support Specialist III position for Security/Video is responsible for the implementation, installation, configuration, support and troubleshooting of District security camera technologies, DVRs/NVRs, supporting software, and access security. Essential Duties
Assumes responsibility for the installation, monitoring, improvement, technical support and ongoing maintenance of District approved security video systems and access control in both network based and legacy analog systems
Executes all relevant SOPs including Change Control
Ensures proper and effective communication, impact analysis, and approvals prior to implementation of changes
Assists with training staff on the security video software
Conducts tests of software and hardware upgrades to provide management with recommendations on future changes and upgrades
Monitors, tracks, schedules, updates and closes District work orders within the automated system on a timely basis
Ensures compatibility of configurations with Fulton County Board of Education standards and the System Level Technology Strategic Plan
Provides on-site, phone, and remote support and is creative and thinks outside the box to deliver services
Supports development and implementation of new projects and new hardware installations
Consults with customers to evaluate and recommend technical needs
Participates in on-call 24/7 infrastructure support for emergency situations, after-hours maintenance of network resources when scheduled, and on-call support for end users as needed or defined by helpdesk support hours
Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education Associate's Degree in a related field or In lieu of degree, will consider 2 years of related experience per year of college (4 years) Certification/Licensure Avigilon ACC & ACM certification is required Experience Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP-based video surveillance and access control technologies, system design, installation, and network integration required and must include at least one year of experience working with access control hardware and software integration using Avigilon; Experience with Windows 2012-2016 server technology required; Experience with Network PoE switching required; Experience with electronics and low voltage preferred; Experience with legacy analog video systems (GE Tru Nav) preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess a good understanding and broad knowledge of video surveillance systems, cameras, DVR and NVR architectures
A good understanding of Windows operating systems for both servers and workstations
Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks, problems, change, and projects
Must have solid analytical and problem resolution skills with a wide variety of computer hardware and software issues
Ability to respond promptly to assigned tasks, support requests and incidents, phone calls, and emails
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
Able to work independently and in team environments to meet goals and deadlines
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, innovative, efficient, multi-tasking, and vigilant
