POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commerce Engineer participates in aspects of design, architecture, and development of a high-volume transactional e-commerce platform built primarily with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). He/she has a passion for building, robust, well-architected solutions, takes scalability and maintainability seriously, and has a desire to keep current with and learn new technologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the development of full stack web and backend applications in a high-volume transactional ecommerce environment with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, 
• Ensure the right technology choices are made and strive for excellence in engineering
•  Learning new skills and mentoring other team members.
• Help shape and enforce development standards and practices throughout the organization
• Collaborate within the team and across multiple departments
• Perform peer code and architectural reviews
• Take ownership of features and delivery
• Participate in planning and be engaged in the Agile process
• Full SDLC support through post development activities including automated and integration testing, deployment, and production support
• Thrive on solving complex problems and creating high quality, highly scalable software solutions
• Effective time management and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Computer Science or related field.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Demandware
• Engineering expertise 
• A strong computer science background and solid experience with object oriented design and programming
• Well versed in web, backend and database development principles. 
• Experience in agile software development teams
• Proficiency or familiarity with AWS is a big plus
