Production Batcher

Full Metal Canning is a rapidly growing beverage contract manufacturer in Longmont, Colorado, specializing in producing non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in aluminum cans.

The Batcher/Formulator is responsible for formulating products per client specification for production to can.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and monitor the batching equipment (in assigned production hall), including but not limited to reading and following batch instructions, set-up/staging, documentation, operation of batching equipment, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance. (from raw materials through to finished beverage)
• Use basic math to calculate batch sizes and make adjustments to bring products into the specification, typically using PH and Brix readings.
• Ensure each batch is prepared on time and ready for production by the designated start time.
• Set up the next shift for success
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Maintain all production equipment. Keeping all equipment operating and looking brand new.
• Perform regular maintenance on batching equipment.
• Create requisitions for failed or failing parts on production equipment.
• Record keeping:
• Accurately track and report batching metrics, quantities, and yields.
• Ensure batching supplies quantities are monitored and create requisition requests for chemicals, equipment, consumables, etc., to the production manager.
• Follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Cross-Functionality
• Assist with Canning Production as needed (e.g., packing cans into cases, bundling cases, palletizing cases).
• Support warehouse with inventories and ensure proper quantities of materials are on hand for upcoming schedule.
• Works with quality to ensure product is batched to specification, all documents are completed and equipment is cleaned and sanitized.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-year minimum experience batching food and/or beverage products.
• Proven ability to follow formulations and to use basic math skills in support of batch adjustments.
• Must be able to lift and move 35 lbs for a sustained period including overhead and occasionally move 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a noisy environment, pulling hoses, bending down, moving up and down steps and working on concrete floor for the duration of the shift.
• Comfortable engaging with clients when necessary.
• Experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with GMP and SPF guidelines.
• Ability to accurately fill out batch documentation to comply with internal practices.
• Experience with Cold Brew “Brew Bomb” or similar coffee-making equipment is a plus but not required.
• Ability to operate a manual pallet jack. Experience operating a forklift is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
