We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

The new site will offer end-to-end solutionsto our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

About This Role

The Manager, Learning and Development plays a pivotal role in fostering a “People First” culture of continuous learning, development, and growth within FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. This role is integral in preparing the Holly Springs site for operations by creating content, facilitating trainings, and implementing learning content, along with managing learning and development projects.

Internal Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Develops engaging and effective learning content and materials aligned with FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies goals, mission and vision
  • Conducts training sessions using various methodologies to ensure optimal understanding and retention of content, taking into account all learning styles
  • Uses innovative training methodologies to enhance the learning experience through adult theories of learning
  • Effectively launches and implements training projects and programs, ensuring successful adoption and integration with the respective audiences
  • Executes training programs to effectively align with FDB’s objectives and optimal impact
  • Translates strategic vision into actionable plans, driving the successful execution of training initiatives
  • Develops, maintains and trends the performance of the site training program in conjunction with global training process and procedures
  • Assess and identify training needs at the site through observation and communication with employees and management.
  • Confirms the effectiveness of training through testing, observation, and evaluation
  • Partners with Leaders and HR Business Partners to identify/develop and maintain competency and skills matrices to provide career development and success planning pipeline for the organization
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders in People and Culture, Quality, Manufacturing, and other FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies sites to ensure alignment/consistency throughout organization
  • Partners with Wake Technical Community College, NC Biotech Center and other community partners to best utilize funding and resources
  • Provides expertise in site training and evaluation of trainers’ skills, including classroom trainers and OJT trainers
  • Develops, implements, and maintains training schedules based on departmental workloads and information such as SOP issuance and curricula assignment
  • Monitor and manage employee training records and qualification status, as required
  • Transfers knowledge of training and learning methodologies to build a culture of learning and development
  • Oversees the entire lifecycle of training projects, from conception to evaluation, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met
  • Effectively uses consultation techniques to align and build project proposals, as needed
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Who You Are

You will create content, facilitating trainings, and implementing learning content, along with managing learning and development projects. Develop, maintains and trends the performance of the site training program in conjunction with global training process and procedures.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, education, instructional design or other relevant field of study
  • 5‐8 years of experience in Learning and Development, Leadership
  • Development or Talent Development with a focus on content design, delivery and program management
  • Experience in strategic consulting, learning needs analysis, instructional design, development and delivery, leadership development, behavioral assessments, team development, and other learning and development interventions
  • Proven needs analysis, instructional design, monitoring, and classroom training skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities and ability to work cross functionally across all levels of the organization
  • Personable, reliable, flexible, quick thinking, solution oriented, and self‐starter with a high level of accountability
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to innovate and think critically
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills, coaching and leadership development expertise
  • Proficiency in creating and presenting project proposals
  • Working understanding and use of learning models and coaching models
  • In‐depth knowledge of instructional design principles and adult theories of learning
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with training, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Solid foundation of HR functions and best practices with ability to stay up to date on Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Ability to stay calm and solution‐focused in high stress situations

  • Exceptional problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to approach problems flexibly and demonstrate creativity in solving them

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience or managing a team
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment
  • Assessments interpretation and Coaching certification (i.e. Insights
  • Discovery, DiSC, Change Management Procsi‐ADKAR model, Hogan Assessments, etc.)
