The Role

This role will develop and document requirements for ISO’s and Packaging components. Set requirements by component/assembly for ISO’s and packaging, including materials, cost, and analysis to support the standards. Facilitate failure mode and effect analysis for ISO’s and packaging. Develop/direct equipment and packaging acquisition, contracts, inspection, and retirement protocols.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Develop Fleet Equipment and packaging requirements to ensure compliance with environmental, legal regulations, manufacturer, and customer requirements.
  • Develops equipment and packaging test programs to assure compliance with industry and legal regulations.
  • Performs engineering and failure analysis for systemic ISO and packaging issue so corrective action programs can be deployed.
  • Identifies and investigates new technologies to ensure ISO’s and packaging equipment are designed for safe and efficient operation.
  • Develops 3D CAD models and engineering drawings to assure ISO and packaging designs are compatible with supplier and customer configurations.
  • Support cost reduction efforts related to equipment and packaging options.
  • Work with ISO Management Team to develop 2.5 year and 5 year recertification replacement protocol based on supplier and internal data analysis.
  • Initiate and complete MOC documents to support the implementation of new technologies and equipment to support ISO and packaging improvements.
  • Prepare financial analysis for validation and justification for purchase of new fleet equipment and packaging materials.
  • Participate in product development in which the design or product can be affected by the equipment or packaging in use or selected.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science/Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in packaging for industrial equipment used to package or transport (hazardous materials preferred).
  • 5 years of packaging for high volume products shipped overseas (hazardous products preferred)
  • 2 years of experience RCA and FMEA
  • 2 years of experience creating and delivering technical reports and presentations
  • Experience working in a high-volume production, cost sensitive industry
  • Hazardous material equipment and packaging experience preferred.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
