Summary:

The Hardware Verification Engineer I will support hardware verification activities for product development, quality and value engineering teams. As part of the Hardware Verification team, you will be responsible for electromechanical product testing to ensure designs exceed customer expectations. In this role you will develop, maintain and execute protocols to assess thermal, humidity, altitude, shock, vibration, safety, mechanical cycle-life, EMC and material compatibility performance. Successful candidates will accurately document results, communicate findings and promote product quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of product requirements and performance acceptance criteria.
  • Create, update and release test plans and protocols to support product verification actions.
  • Maintain, organize and qualify test articles. Ensure proper product configurations including hardware, software, accessories, modes and features.
  • Plan, schedule and execute projects for on/off site testing of thermal, humidity, altitude, shock, vibration, safety, mechanical cycle-life, EMC and material compatibility.
  • Transport systems to external test laboratories, install, operate and evaluate systems during testing.
  • Organize, document and communicate findings to program and engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment to the module level.
  • Support test equipment infrastructure and calibration.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires 0-2 years relevant industry experience, preferably in an FDA or other regulated industry.
  • Associate degree in engineering field, BS in ME, EE or Biomedical preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electronics and mechanical design concepts.
  • Knowledge performing or overseeing hardware tests involving environmental lab equipment (thermal, humidity, altitude and vibration).
  • Experience reading test plans, executing test protocols and organizing data for reports.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and execute electrical and mechanical engineering protocols.
  • Strong engineering documentation skills including data analysis, charting, logging, trending.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with electromechanical equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Ability to work onsite and offsite at local testing laboratories.
  • Use of basic hand tools, moving and lifting of hardware is required.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $60,000 - $85,000 depending on experience variable bonus opportunity
