Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will assist in providing support and care to patients undergoing physical therapy treatments. Duties:
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and exercises for patients
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
- Be able to provide hands on manual therapy techniques including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, etc.
- Be able to implement therapeutic exercise safely including progressing and regressing exercises as needed.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist
- Provide assistance to patients with mobility, transfers, and exercises as directed by the physical therapist
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy areas and equipment
- Document patient progress and treatment activities accurately
Experience:
- Knowledge of trigger point therapy, exercise therapy, occupational health, physiology, medical terminology, patient care, and anatomy and physiology of the human body.
- Previous experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
