Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Account Payee Specialist to join our team. This person will be responsible for managing the funds & assets of participants. This is a critical role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism. (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (eligible to work 2 days remote per week following training))
Duties:
- Managing Social Security Payee functions for our residential participants.
- Manage participant funds in accordance with certain guidelines.
- Alert Coordinators and Managers when participants’ total assets are approaching their limits.
- Assist the with the Internal Audit process; prepare audit forms and any other paperwork in advance; compile summarized audit results.
- Liaison with governmental units (Social Security, OPWDD, Medicaid, etc.), financial institutions, family members, etc. regarding incomes, expenses, taxes, and all other financial issues.
Requirements:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic computer skills required.
- Experience with Medicaid regulations and Social Security (SSA/SSI/SSP) regulations highly preferred.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
- Experience with a Representative Payee Services software platform (such as RPM) preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in security management or related field preferred
