Mammography Technologist Job Overview:

• Perform routine to very difficult radiographic examinations of the breast.
• Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination.
• Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
• Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists.
• Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with MTF policy.
• As directed, perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to the manufacturer and MTF policy.
• Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have direct bearing on the patient's condition and inform the radiologist.
• Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires medical attention.
• May be required to work evenings/nights, rotating shifts, weekends and/or other schedules common to hospital operations.
• May be required to wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided.

Mammography Technologist Job Qualifications:

• One year within the last two years of radiologic technologist or mammography experience
• Basic Life Support
• Experience using computers especially Microsoft programs

• Graduate from an academic program accredited by JRCERT or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA

OR

• ARRT certification with post-primary specialized certification in MQSA mammography, 24 hours of CEUs in any Radiography.
• Certification maintenance requirements: 15 hours of CEUs in mammography prior to onboarding. Must complete 24 hours of CEUs in any Radiology technology field every 2 years.
