DescriptionJob Opportunity: Social Care WorkerLocation: Newbridge and Naas, Co. KildareSalary: €38,000 to €48,000 (based on experience)Are you a dedicated Social Care Worker professional seeking a rewarding career in a mainstream services? Join our passionate teams in Newbridge and Naas, Co. Kildare, where we provide comprehensive care for children/young persons in a brand new residential and Step down service.Key Responsibilities:Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.Monitor and promote the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of each child.Assist with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and bedtime.Provide emotional support and guidance to children.Follow individual care plans for each child, considering their unique needs and circumstances.Work closely with other staff members to ensure consistency in care.Monitor and supervise children to ensure their safety and security.Respond appropriately to any behavioural or emotional issues.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each child's progress, development, and any incidents.Document daily activities, observations, and notable events.Communicate effectively with children, their families, and other staff members.Participate in team meetings and case conferences.Advocate for the best interests of each child.Collaborate with other professionals, such as educators and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care.Support and encourage educational activities and homework completion.Work closely with educational staff to address any learning or behavioural challenges.Organise and participate in recreational and social activities for the children.Foster a positive and inclusive community within the residential unit.Be prepared to handle crises and emergencies effectively.Follow established protocols for crisis intervention and reporting.Collaborate with child protection services, social workers, and other external agencies involved in the children's care.Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.Stay informed about best practices and changes in relevant legislation.It's important to note that Social Care Workers may also have specific responsibilities related to the unique needs of the children in their care, and the above list is a general overview.
