Who you are:

As an Engineering Capability Leader – Digital Retail at Frost, you are subject matter expert, bringing together various technical areas to continue build of best-in-class digital capability (mobile first). Our Engineering Capability Leaders believe in collaboration, ingenuity, and truly want to lead design and change in the IT realm. You believe in servant leadership and will work with development teams to thoughtfully create and deliver top-quality systems throughout the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the entire development lifecycle for a team of digital (mobile, online and API) engineers with assigned programs and systems, including establishing the underlying architecture of interrelated software applications
  • Utilize subject matter expertise in reviewing software development for a group of software engineers to ensure alignment with business and customer needs, change control procedures, and Frost development standards
  • Collaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design digital platform and new capabilities based on program requirements, and to optimize system and program functionality
  • Provide strategic thought leadership while ensuring a tactical execution and implementation of initiatives
  • Ensure production excellence, safety and soundness of the digital platforms
  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes

What you’ll need:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience of modern digital technologies and fintechs in areas such as Bill Pay, Aggregation, Feature management, mobile (iOS and android), API
  • Demonstrated prior experience with languages and technologies used in digital such as mobile native technologies (iOS Swift, Android kotlin), Java / J2EE, Javascript, Angular, React, NoSQL, microservices etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with Cloud, API, DevOps, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience independently identifying issues and designing solutions for the biggest and most complex programs and systems at the bank
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing and directing software development efforts for a group of Software Engineers
  • Proven ability to lead a team and act as a trusted partner with digital business leadership
  • Current knowledge of emerging market and digital trends, agile development methodologies, and development frameworks that improve application security
  • Strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming
