Frontwave Credit Union is Hiring a Real Estate Home Loan Consultant (MLO) - Internal (Onsite) Near San Marcos, CA

Overview

The Home Loan Consultant “HLC” is responsible for helping Frontwave Credit Union members achieve their mortgage financing goals by soliciting and originating mortgage loans in accordance with all Federal, State and Frontwave Credit Union “Frontwave Credit Union” guidelines. Provide the highest level of member service in all interactions with members, referral partners, and Frontwave Credit Union employees by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, products, policies, and guidelines and gathers any needed documentation. Responds to member inquiries and referrals that are generated by Frontwave Credit Union business channels. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following non-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. All duties are to be performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies and procedures.

Source new mortgage leads from Frontwave Credit Union branches/databases/Call Center/Online Portals.

  • Educates members regarding all lending and financial offerings of Frontwave Credit Union Participates in planning, organizing, and directing of mortgage lending origination activities to maximize loan growth and production growth.
  • Conducts courteous and professional loan interviews with members and other prospective borrowers and responds to all subsequent questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
  • Generates accurate and fully completed residential mortgage loan applications with accompanying documentation.
  • Issues loan pre-approvals for well qualified members as needed.
  • Negotiate loans terms and pricing with applicants.
  • Develop a strategy to assist customers after completion of the transaction, including review of and assistance for additional and future financial needs.
  • Regularly participate in activities in connection with mortgage sales, including but not limited to attend closings, open houses, and/or conduct Frontwave Credit Union seminars/trainings and other lead-generating activities.
  • Update job knowledge by: participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED) – Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years working as a Home Loan Consultant, or in a similar position in mortgage lending is required. Knowledge of mortgage loan products, terminology, compliances and regulation.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology, including but not limited to Mortgage Loan Origination Software and Automated Underwriting Systems. Ability to evaluate credit applications, credit reports, income and asset documentation and other documents as needed in mortgage loan files.

Position Certifications:

HLC will be required to be registered in the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry “NMLS” and have a NMLS ID. Responsible for initial registration in NMLS database and for maintaining personal information. Data must be accurate and up-to-date. Must abide by all requirements of the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (SAFE) Act as outlined in the procedure manual.

Salary Range: $29.03-$43.54
