Hospice- Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)

Job Summary:

The Hospice - Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) will be responsible for providing personal care and support services to terminally ill patients in a hospice setting. The CNA will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and will assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. The CNA will also provide emotional support to patients and their families and will help to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Help to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Assist with medication administration as directed by a registered nurse.
  • Document patient care and observations in the medical record
  • Communicate with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care and needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and in-service education programs.
  • Adhere to all hospice policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hospice or home health setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
