We are hiring a full-time Dept. of Defense Sr. Combatant Command (CCMD) Mission Analyst to support the US Army in conjunction with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) Cyber Warfare Directorate (CWD). In this role, you will have a direct impact on the success of a high-profile DoD program with Congressional mandates for national security in military systems. You will utilize operations research analysis, analytic computations, advanced data analysis techniques, and planning experience within the DoD community working in support of operational and/or strategic level organizational, service component, or CCMD staff. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage technical leadership and team-building experience to inform executive-level decisions with timely, accurate results in the interest of U.S. national security.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as part of a small team to develop a new Department of Defense (DoD) project life cycle that yields quantified “Risk to Mission” deliverables to Combatant Commands at an operational and tactical level.
  • Employ Operations Research techniques to conduct complex analysis and determine impacts of weighted interdependencies on operational mission risk.
  • Collect, organize and manage large amounts of information on Mission Essential Tasks (METs), Key Operational Information (OPLANs, Campaign Plans, etc.), Critical Assets, and Interdependency Metrics to analyze connections between resource capabilities and risk to operational and enduring mission requirements.
  • Build relationships and network with multiple Military and Government organizations.
  • Desire for continued development and open to learning new system and modeling platforms as they emerge.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including occasional international travel.

Education/Qualifications

Required:

  • Active U.S. Top Secret for Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 15 years of experience working in or in support of military organizations at the operational or strategic levels.
  • Expertise with Operations Research Analysis functions is required, for example:
    • Operational Assessments
    • Data Collection and Database Management
    • Military Decision Point Analysis
    • Mathematical Modeling
    • Transforming Complex Analysis into Executive-level Decision Support
  • Experience in leading diverse teams to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to support up to 50% O/CONUS travel
    • Common destinations include Washington DC and various Combatant Commands (CCMD).

Preferred:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Knowledge of data analysis software (R, Python, SAS, etc).
  • Experience working on a battalion or brigade level staff.
  • Experience in cyber-related operations, information management, or analysis.
  • Experience with strategic planning, specifically related to campaign plans and war plans.
  • Experience with the Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Planning and Execution Services (JPES), Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX), and/or Joint Operations Planning and Education System (JOPES).
  • Experience with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), Mission Essential Task (MET) Development, Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS), and/or Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS).
