Frontier Natural Products Co-op is Hiring a VP of Finance Near Norway, IA

SUMMARY

Serving as an integral member of the senior management team this individual is responsible for organization's overall financial plans, policies, and accounting practices. Directs budgeting, audit, tax, and accounting activities for the organization. Establishes financial reporting system with controls and standards to safeguard organization assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Reviews investments, funding sources and manages long term cashflow. Ensures accurate and timely financial information while developing accounting and statistical data related to financial forecasts. Oversees the project management department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the financial liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings
  • Has primary responsibility for executing the financial strategy, plans, policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Serves as a liaison for the company in legal matters
  • Advises key members of senior management on the companies financial analysis and forecasted cash flow
  • Implements systems and policies to ensure expenditures, inventory control, accounts and receivables and other financial decisions are made in accordance with company goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates annual budgeting process to ensure accuracy of all category allocations and expenses.
  • Oversees Project Management group and responsible for oversight of their resource planning and providing ongoing reporting on performance to senior management.
  • Facilitates company level risk assessment and works with key members in the organization to transfer or mitigate high risk areas.
  • Responsible for building, analyzing, and presenting key financial reporting to support the business.
  • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate filing of all government mandated
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the senior management team informed of all critical issues.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training. Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees managers who supervise the Finance Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Takes responsibility for safety within department and actively assesses hazards in their department and finds solutions to those hazards.

Reinforces a safety culture: leads by example, reminds employees to work safely, praises good behavior and safe practices, encourages suggestions, communicates consequences for unsafe acts, holds employees accountable, disciplines employees when warranted.
