Frontier Health is Hiring a Psychiatrist -C&Y- Full Time- Holston C&Y Near Kingsport, TN

JOB TITLE Psychiatrist

SUMMARY:

Will provide direct professional psychiatric services to patients as assigned to include psychiatric evaluations, case consultation, medication management and monitoring for side effects, and psychotherapy. Also participates in multi-disciplinary treatment planning at assigned locations as appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: M.D. or D.O. degree required.

Licensure: Must be board eligible or certified in psychiatry in state of practice. Must possess current physician license and controlled substance license valid in state(s) of practice.

Certification: Must possess current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate for the US Drug Enforcement Administration.

Experience: Experience in clinical practice and community fieldwork preferred.

Knowledge/Skills: Knowledgeable of medication usage and interactions. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Verbal/written communication skills.

EQUIPMENT: Computer, fax, copier and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains active corporate medical staff membership in good standing.

2. Conducts psychiatric evaluations, both brief and extensive for adult, children, and adolescent clients.

3. Provides psychiatric management of clients through participation in multidisciplinary treatment planning process.

4. Serves as a resource person to other clinical staff regarding psychiatric issues.

5. Supervises residents, fellows, and advanced practice nurses.

6. Interacts with referral sources, particularly medical referral sources, in such a way as to enhance patient care and positive community relationships.

7. Complete accurately and timely medical records in accordance with the standards of applicable accrediting, licensing, utilization review and payor agencies.

8. Comply with relevant Frontier Health reimbursement rules and regulations as applicable.

9. Provide effective communication with Frontier Health staff, and regulatory agencies, managed care organizations, patients, and families in a appropriate and timely manner.

10. Attends mandatory inservices annually and additional related training.

11. Maintains current knowledge of available resources for client population and actively coordinates services with clinical staff.

12. Maintains knowledge of agency policy and procedures, especially as they relate to functions of this position in timely documentation, necessary assessments patient medication education, lab work, and sample medicating.

13. Records ideas concisely and clearly and in a timely manner in keeping with clinical records standards.

14. Must possess knowledge of human behavior, psychopathology and understanding of the relationship of family and community on the individual.

15. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and inservices and individual program planning staffings as needed.

16. All other duties as assigned.
