POSITION SUMMARY

Join Frontier Door and Cabinet as a Contracts Specialist, where you'll play a critical role in managing contracts for construction projects. Your expertise in reviewing, redlining, and adjusting contracts, combined with your keen eye for detail and financial acumen, will ensure the seamless execution of contractual obligations and billing processes. Operating at the intersection of construction management and financial administration, you'll be instrumental in safeguarding our company's interests and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of construction contracts, identifying risks, ensuring compliance, and negotiating favorable terms where applicable.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to resolve contract-related inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage the complete cycle of contract maintenance, including processing change orders, tracking insurance documentation, and coordinating pre-liens as required by state.
  • Oversee all aspects of contractual accounting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, providing timely assistance and clarification to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and best practices related to contract management and billing processes, implementing updates and improvements as necessary.
  • Support accounts receivable processes, including the maintenance of retention and lien status reports.
  • Collaborate across departments to produce and maintain accurate billing documents, ensuring alignment with project requirements and contractual obligations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4-5 yeas prior experience in Construction Management, contract, and/or subcontract management.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of contracts, contract management principles, billing processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel, adept at analyzing, interpreting, correcting, updating, and manipulating data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations using good judgment and creativity, where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement mindset.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to understand the “big picture” and think outside the box

This role operates primarily in a professional office environment within Frontier Door and Cabinet's Tacoma, WA facilities. 

SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Frontier Door and Cabinet’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required. This will include safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (when needed) while on the production floor.
