What Will You Be Doing?The Revenue Management Analyst II monitors and establishes inventory levels based on revenue data of passenger loads, capacity, group bookings, and demand in order to maximize revenues using forecast optimization tools. The Analyst II is expected to perform at a higher level than the Analyst I, especially in terms of measurable results in RASM, Load Factor, Average Fare, Posted Leg L/F and Managed Leg L/F to improve profitability. This position is also responsible for maintaining awareness of competitive issues within assigned markets and making recommendations for necessary adjustments.
Essential Functions
  • Manages and maximizes revenues by developing and implementing interdepartmental strategies through quantitative analysis of historical passenger demand, the competitive environment, and consumer buying behavior
  • Optimizes and validates forecasted demand of similar and disparate market sets
  • Analyzes market influences, evaluates market historical performance, identifies market demand patterns, and performs trend analysis
  • Summarizes data and analysis results, formulates and reviews conclusions
  • Recommends and implements market/flight-level inventory allocation strategies based on conclusions of analyses
  • Audits, monitors, and refines individual progress towards market goals and strategies
  • Presents original analysis and strategies to senior management, designs departmental business processes, analyzes the effects of fare and inventory changes on market performance, and work on ad hoc projects related to the airline’s strategic goals
  • Monitors current revenue management systems to make sure they are current with upgrades/technical issues
  • Consistently analyzes competitive landscape, paying attention to fare and schedule changes.
  • Recommends improvements, standardization, and tools through constant evaluation of team processes.
  • Performs frequent audits and modifications of best practice documentation related to revenue management processes
Other Functions
  • Interacts with group desk, pricing, and other departments in order to maximize revenues.
  • Participate in the creation of regular reports for Senior management
  • Analyzes the potential of and recommends, if appropriate, extra lift/ scheduling changes/ market connections
  • Efficient prioritizing of daily responsibilities including an evaluation of changes in competitive fare environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Aviation Management or related field or equivalent work experience/training.
  • Advanced degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, or operations research preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in revenue management strongly preferred
  • Previous knowledge and experience with a revenue management system
  • Demonstrates significant analytical ability
  • Must be able to independently identify a problem area and sift through multiple data sources
  • Ability to produce high quality quantitative methods
  • Shares knowledge and expertise with Analyst I level
  • Able to efficiently summarize variances and presents recommendations to upper management
  • Familiarity with software programs/languages used in conducting quantitative analysis (Python, Oracle, SAS, SQL, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions, and present recommendations.
  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices of RM theory
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Experience with CRS and RM systems
  • Ability to handle confidential material
  • Interest in problem-solving, economic game theory, and consumer buying behavior
  • Willingness to take calculated risks
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Medium to Advanced Excel knowledge and skills
  • High degree of PC skills (MS Office applications, database tools, etc)
  • Ability to work under general direction with latitude in planning workload to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to handle confidential material
