Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain close security of the companys assets, including design documents, equipment, and inventory.
  • Experience using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) in the creation of complex electromechanical models, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings.
  • Perform detailed thermal analysis of circuit card assemblies, electromechanical modules, and systems to aid in circuit layout and design of electronics cooling system. Use appropriate FEA and CFD tools to accomplish analysis, size cooling fans and choose adequate thermal interface materials.
  • Perform detailed structural analysis of circuit card assemblies, electromechanical modules, and systems to investigate the effects of shock and vibration. Use appropriate FEA tools to accomplish analysis, design mounting features and in the design of the overall packaging scheme.
  • Perform tolerance analysis as required to ensure intended assembly performance.
  • Understanding of corrosion causes and prevention techniques.
  • Familiarity with MIL standards related to electronics packaging design, performance, and testing.
  • Familiarity using Thermal Interface Materials to minimize interface resistance.
  • Work with electrical engineers and designers to define the mechanical attributes of electronic modules and systems.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and the ability to apply in the creation of fabrication drawings for mechanical parts IAW ANSI Y14.5M.
  • Experience creating assembly drawings IAW ANSI Y14.5M that allow for the assembly of complex electromechanical products.
  • Ensure that designs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Interact with Sales, Quality and Test Engineering to resolve design related issues.
  • Ensure that the policies and practices of the Employee Handbook are followed within the department.
  • Attend meetings as needed and prepare planning information to other members of the company.
  • Inform management immediately, if delivery dates cannot be met.
  • Control costs within the department.
  • Provide input to the sales department regarding pricing of new and existing products and services.
  • Partner with the sales department to determine feasibility for potential new products, processes, or services.
  • Familiarity with machine shop tools and some ability to fabricate or modify simple parts.
  • Collaborate with the other engineering disciplines to ensure the mechanical design meets all cross-functional product requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to ensure all product drawing and BOMs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Capable of applying lean design techniques to produce efficient, low cost, and easily manufacturable electronic modules and systems.
  • Ensure that any relevant reports are correct and provided on a timely basis.
  • Interact with Project Engineers and Project Managers to inform them of project status and aid in project timeline planning.
  • Work with Configuration Management to ensure proper document control and configuration management is maintained.
  • Balance multiple projects and support operations personnel as issues arise during build.
  • Communicate effectively using both oral and written communication.
  • Provide the necessary, planning, organization, leadership, inspiration, communication, and control to meet the operations goals of the company.
  • Mentor less experienced Mechanical Engineers by providing training, project guidance, and peer reviews.
Qualifications:
HOW TO SUCCEED
Minimum Requirements:
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
  • Security clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook), SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation tools, ANSYS Icepak and AutoCAD.

Salary Range: $89,500.00 - $111,876.00 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
