Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- May lead or set the direction for work by technicians and designers.
- Experience using CAD tools in the creation of complex electromechanical models, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings.
- Ability to perform thermal analysis of circuit card assemblies, electromechanical modules and systems to aid in circuit layout and design of electronics cooling system. Use appropriate FEA and CFD tools to accomplish analysis, size cooling fans and choose adequate thermal interface materials.
- Possesses understanding of thermal properties of materials in their specified applications and impact to designs (such as a material's CTE is considered into the design's dimensions and tolerancing).
- Possesses knowledge on how to set up and instrument common tests to evaluate units functionality under specified conditions. Must also understand how to properly handle the post test unit and evaluate post test results in order to gain the correct findings from test.
- Familiarity with typical RF performance parameter terminology and associated DC power variables.
- Understanding of grounding effects as related to RF transmission lines and methods.
- Ability to perform structural analysis of circuit card assemblies, electromechanical modules and systems to investigate the effects of shock and vibration. Use appropriate FEA tools to accomplish analysis, design mounting features and in the design of the overall packaging scheme.
- May implement process improvements for responsible projects Aid in the definition and checking of documentation for fabricated items and assemblies.
- Interface with customers when needed, respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within scope of knowledge or refer to an employee of higher classification.
- Interact with the Sales, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Manager, and the Test Engineering Manager to resolve mechanical design related issues.
- Work with PCB designers to define the mechanical constraint drawings and related attributes of electronic modules and systems.
- Interact with Project Managers to inform them of project status and aid in project timeline planning.
- Communicate effectively using both oral and written communication during internal design reviews. Able to confidently and readily answer questions and provide expertise on the subject.
- Control costs for individual projects.
- Perform tolerance stack up analysis as required to ensure intended assembly performance.
- Ensure that any relevant reports are correct and provided on a timely basis.
- Work with the Document Control Department to ensure proper Document Control and Configuration Management is maintained.
- Familiarity with GD&T and the ability to apply in the creation of fabrication drawings for mechanical parts in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
- Some understanding of electronics cooling and its impact to performance.
- Exposure to MIL standards related to electronics packaging design, performance and testing.
- Exposure to typical manufacturing processes such as milling, turning, sheet metal, casting, etc.
- May implement process improvements for responsible projects.
- Familiarity with machine shop tools and some ability to fabricate or modify simple parts.

MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project), ERP, PLM, 3D CAD preferably SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD, and Thermal & Structural Analysis software preferably SolidWorks Simulation tools, ANSYS Mechanical and/or ANSYS Icepack.
Salary Range: $77,826 - $97,283 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
