Our core competencies include drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), safety and toxicology, bioanalytical services, chemistry and manufacturing controls for drug development, and core laboratory services for clinical trials.
Our Chicago, IL site provides toxicology testing and research laboratory services and specialized pre-clinical studies in support of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products.
Position/Job Summary: Individuals in this position support evaluation of the safety and/or toxicity of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products by ensuring the health and welfare of research animals.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Performs or assists in performing standard animal husbandry procedures, including (but not limited to):
* Receiving and housing research animals
* Feeding and caring for animals.
* Cleaning animal rooms, cages, equipment as appropriate
* Keeping appropriate inventory levels of needed supplies (g., feed, bedding, etc.)
* Working with colleagues to maintain the animal facility in the best condition at all times to ensure the health and welfare of study
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills Required:
* Must be a high school graduate and have one to two years of college education. However, a BS degree in Lab Animal Science is highly desired as well as prior experience working with research animals.
