Summary:

The Tree Service Laborer is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of tree removals, trimmings, brush clearing, and stump grinding projects. Job responsibilities also include utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for roping down branches and logs
• Operate a chipper, pull brush
• Loading trucks with logs
• Operating a chain saw
• Cart and spread topsoil and other required materials
• Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, and manual lifting
• Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain shop equipment
• Conduct safety inspections of tools and equipment
• Follow directions from foreman
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Requirements:

• Experience roping down limbs (preferred)
• Ability to operate skid loaders and other equipment (preferred)
• Competent in the use of small engines (chain saws, pole saws, bag pack blowers, etc...)
• Valid driver’s license
• Customer and quality focused
• Physically fit with ability to work in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Ability to follow safe working procedures
• Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
• Effective communication and problem solving skills
