Frog & Toad is a charming gift shop serving Rhode Island for over 20 years. We are an independent, neighborhood business with product categories ranging from tabletop to jewelry, women's apparel and children's toys.

We are currently hiring a full time Merchandiser / Retail Associate to help make our store beautiful and manage day to day operations, serve as a product expert and provide excellent customer service.

Our ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment, believes in the importance of creating a great customer experience, and will work to ensure every customer feels welcomed. Applicants with a background in retail merchandising a plus, but those with experience in retail sales and/or food service work also considered. Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Merchandising our broad range of products in an aesthetic that appeals to our customer and meets our established standards.

Answering questions in a courteous and helpful manner while making informed recommendations to customers regarding purchases. Gift wrap purchases when appropriate. Answer phone inquiries.

Performing detailed work in an accurate manner by using a cash register to ring up sales, receive cash and credit card payments and make change.

Receiving and processing new product, morning set up and evening closing.

Maintains standards of cleanliness, stocking floor and keeping back stock organized.

Able to work independently and creatively.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Applicants might have previous retail merchandising experience, strong telephone and personal communications skills verbal and written.

Be willing to work flexible hours, including most, not all weekends. Will have a weekly determined schedule.

Good cooperation, people skills and work as a team member.

Ability to multitask, and time management skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Be dependable and punctual.

Able to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as lift up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have high school degree or equivalent.

Work experience in customer service is a must.
