Froedtert South is Hiring an Emergency Department Technician Near Pleasant Prairie, WI

  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Department Technician provides patient care for all patients throughout the lifespan.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • High School plus specialized training (6 mons-2 yrs)
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 1 to 3 years
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
    • Must obtain Basic EKG certification within six (6) months of hire.
    • Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA).
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Performs technical skills under the supervision of the Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients throughout the lifespan.
    • Assists medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, clerical duties and documents/communicates appropriately.
    • Assists with facilitating interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers as well as patient transfers between the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers and the Emergency Department.
