SUMMARY OF POSITION:

FRISKE FARM MARKET- A Northern Michigan destination where families and friends gather for great food and great fun! Going the extra mile for our guests comes before everything. Building relationships and pursuing excellence in every task is at the core of who we are. 

As the Friske Marketing & Events Coordinator, you will develop unique ideas and strategies to market and promote Friske products, services and overall brand across all avenues of digital media and beyond. You are also the mastermind behind the creation and execution of our annual event lineup, including pop-ups and private party bookings!

Upholding Friske’s core values, mission and guiding documents at all times will be absolutely pivotal to your success in this role. 

LOCATION:

This job role will be fulfilled on-site at Friske Orchards Farm Market, 10743 N US-31, Ellsworth, MI 49729. There may be some opportunity for a small percentage of work to take place remotely, but the majority of the job will be performed on location at the market. 

REPORTS TO:

As the Marketing & Events Coordinator, you will report directly to the ownership team (I.e. Heidi and Jon).

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Physically able to work a full day on your feet, sometimes running around.
  2. Available to work weekends and holidays (we are closed on Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, New Year’s, and all Sundays.)
  3. Drive and commitment to study/research/learn current digital marketing and event planning trends, with a strong understanding of brand management principles.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate our brand's story to our followers genuinely and effectively. 
  5. Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and storytelling, capable of developing engaging content and capturing experiences.
  6. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficiency in marketing tools and design programs, such as Canva, Adobe, Google Analytics, and social media management.
  8. Enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with a passion for building relationships and connecting with people.
  9. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required for events
  10.  Positive attitude and outlook in the face of stressful situations and demanding days.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Champion the Friske experience by cross-training and offering support to other departments as needed/requested - i.e. learn the register and offer an exceptional guest experience at the checkout. You may perform computer/phone work out front during a slower season while keeping an eye out for guests at the bakery counter and/or register. 
  2. Develop and execute creative email marketing campaigns using MailChimp on a set schedule that promote our brand and drive in-person traffic, as well as increase ecommerce sales. 
  3. Gather, create and post content (stories, posts, reels, shorts, etc) daily to all of our social media platforms, using current trends and proven methods of success from expert influencers. 
  4. Collaborate with the management team as needed to create compelling content, including graphics, videos, and written copy to engage our audience and drive brand visibility.
  5. Keep the website up-to-date with new images, graphics, information and events. 
  6. Design and place in-store signage and hand-outs to promote products for sale, as well as advertise upcoming events.
  7. Work with Heidi to create roadside banners, event signage, billboard ads, in-house menus (digital and print), brochures, rack cards, ads for visitor guides and other local publications and more.
  8. Design new Friske merch, such as shirts, sweatshirts, hats, drinkware, shopping bags, stickers and more.
  9. Plan and coordinate our annual lineup of festivals and events, using a specific timeline for advertising leading up to each, and delegating/executing appropriate items to others as needed. 
  10. Post events on our website and on facebook. Create ads and boosted posts (in collaboration with Heidi) to maximize visibility and reach. 
  11. Represent our brand at events and conduct social engagement surveys, delivering engaging presentations and demonstrations to showcase our products and values.
  12. Build and maintain relationships with influencers and media partners in an effort to amplify our brand message and reach new audiences.
  13. Monitor and analyze marketing and event performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimize future efforts. 

COMPENSATION:

The Marketing & Events Coordinator begins with a training wage of $18/hour. After a period of 90 days, you will be eligible for a raise to $20/hour, assuming performance is satisfactory and things are moving in a positive direction.

Raises following the 90 days will not be routine, but offered performance warrants and metrics allow. There is definite potential for additional growth as you become fully integrated into the position and the full potential of the role is realized.

After one full year of employment, you will be eligible for a 7 days of PTO. Remember, you should always enjoy 40% OFF all Friske purchases, as well as see a nice additional amount per hour from our tip pool (shared based on hours worked).
