Frisco Montessori Academy is Hiring a Montessori Middle School Lead Teacher (FT) Near Frisco, TX
Supervises: May coordinate and direct the activities of Co-Teachers.
Purpose: To provide quality instruction to students in accordance with the Montessori philosophy and the Texas Standard Course of Study.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effective planning and assessment of the school's current curriculum.
- Guiding students to a level of understanding of the curriculum effectively, materials, or assessments, when appropriate.
- Effective management of the classroom environment.
- Quality instruction includes making learning goals clear to the students and using appropriate instructional strategies.
- Using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technology, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
- Promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promoting equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including implementing specific strategies for students served by the Special Populations Department.
- Maintaining data and documentation, as appropriate.
- Participating in school-wide professional development and seeking continual feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher.
- Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- A valid Texas Professional Educators license in the appropriate content area/grade level.
- Middle Grades Science, Social Studies, Math or ELA.
- Experience working with children ages 12-14.
Desired Qualifications and/or Experience:
- AMS/AMI Montessori Certification.
- At least five years of experience working in a Montessori setting (preferred).
