Description

The Associate Director of Nursing position is considered part of the Friendship Village Succession Plan Program. The Director of Nursing position at Friendship Village is a key leadership role that is highly specialized and critical to the overall success of Friendship Village. Due to that, the Associate Director of Nursing role is designed to prepare the appointee to assume these key responsibilities now or in the near future. The Associate Director of Nursing job includes shadowing other leaders, participating in a job rotation process, attending seminars or other educational opportunities, and being assigned specific job responsibilities. These duties may vary based on the abilities, experience, and expertise of the appointee and may include but are not limited to some or all of the responsibilities listed in the section titled, “Key Responsibilities”. 

The appointee will demonstrate knowledge of and deliver care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the State in which employed. In the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON), shall have administrative authority over and responsibility for the functions and activities of the nursing department. The Associate Director of Nursing is a member of the Nursing Administrative team. May rotate “on-call” with members of this team.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• BSN from an accredited college or university desired.
• Three years of nursing management experience in senior care preferred.
• Geriatric/rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.

· Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations.

· Strong oral and written communication skills. 

· Experienced with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. 

· Demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

· Ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail.
