Food Support - SAC Clarksville

SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining the kitchen according to all licensing requirements, maintains paperwork according to USDA requirements; plans, prepares, serves, and cleans up after meals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties include the following but not considered an inclusive list.

  • Treats clients and guests as top priority, demonstrating excellent customer service skills
  • Communicates and cooperates with parents, guests, children and all staff members; promoting teamwork
  • Plans menus according to budget guidelines, availability, and State & Federal guidelines for children
  • Maintains inventory of supplies; works with Program Director in ordering replacement supplies
  • Unpacks and places delivered items in proper storage place
  • Prepares meals in accordance with USDA regulations
  • Ensures that kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and organized according to licensing requirements
  • Maintains paperwork for USDA regulations; obtains class counts for accurate portions; turns in count of children and accurate measurements of food served to the Program Director
  • Prepares afternoon snacks on carts
  • Purchases necessary food items at designated vendors, as requested
  • Obtains 12 hours of Staff Development each year
  • Attends scheduled staff and team meetings
  • Assists with special events, as needed
  • Assist in classrooms, as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and a minimum of one to three years of experience in food service. Attends Arkansas Department of Child Care, SNP training within six months of hire date.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE: To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurances & HIPAA procedures:

  • The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed at all times.
  • Consumers progress notes be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
  • Consumers records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
