Lifeline Program Manager - Social Worker

About Friendship Circle/Chabad (FC/C)

The Friendship Circle of Miami provides inclusive social and recreational programs for hundreds of children and adults with special needs and is affiliated with the Chabad of Kendall/Pinecrest. The Friendship Circle currently has more than 150 teenage volunteers and close to 150 children and adults with special needs who benefit from 21 exciting programs. The organization is currently finalizing the construction of a new 20,000-square-foot Friendship Circle Campus, to open in mid-2024.

Position Description

Position: Social Worker/Program Manager - Project Lifeline

Organization: The Friendship Circle of Miami (Kendall, FL) and JAFCO Children's Ability Center (Sunrise, FL)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Social Worker to join our team to provide services to parents and children, making a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.

Position Summary: As a Licensed Social Worker for the Project Lifeline program, you will play a vital role in advocating for children and families who rely on our services. Your primary responsibility will be providing intensive case management as well as support to parents. Offering a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families with developmental disabilities.

Role and Responsibilities: As the Project Lifeline social worker, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Receive and assess all referrals for clinical services within the program.

- Conduct thorough initial intakes to evaluate the strengths and needs of children and families.

- Develop and implement service goals and plans, providing recommendations for the child and family.

- Establish and maintain ongoing professional relationships with families through regular home visits.

- Provide continuous support and information to families, adhering to regulatory and professional standards, aligning with our agency's mission, vision, and values.

- Advocate for clients by coordinating access to community and professional services, removing barriers, including transportation.

- Stay informed about community resources and assist families in accessing appropriate developmental disability resources through referrals and case management.

- Attend community meetings, court hearings, IEP meetings, and other relevant provider meetings to support the child and family.

- Collaborate and communicate effectively with schools, physicians, therapists, and other professionals involved with the child and family.

- Maintain accurate and timely case notes, file documentation, and required paperwork according to agency policies.

- Attend weekly individual supervision and staff meetings at both program sites.

- Implement a Trauma-Informed Care Model and Person-Centered Approach in all procedures, practices, and daily interactions.

- Provide support for programmatic needs of the Friendship Circle, including evening and weekend activities as needed.

- Support the facilitation of parent programming and support groups.

- Participate in on-call support in rotation with the clinical team.

- Adhere to Florida Child Abuse Reporting Rules.

- Fulfill any other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field.

- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Social Worker.

- Experience in working with children and families with developmental disabilities in a clinical setting.

- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and community resources.

- Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills.

- Commitment to trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches.

- Willingness to support evening and weekend program activities.

Compensation

The salary for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise. Benefits include time off for national holidays, Jewish holidays, 10 days annual vacation, and health insurance. Salary range is $57,000 to $65,000.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position requiring some late afternoon, early evening and half-day work on every other Sunday during the school year, with compensatory time off provided.
