Objective: The Client Advocacy Specialist will be responsible for supervising the domestic violence shelter advocacy team.

• The Client Advocacy Specialist summary of responsibility is to work with the advocacy team to review victim/survivors supportive service goal plans and assessments to ensure appropriate services are in place to assist survivors in meeting their self-sufficiency goals and assess any gaps in services and to include empowerment advocacy.
• Maintains documentation and maintenance of accurate and complete written records pertaining to program participants.
• Participates in appropriate in-service and staff development training to increase professional competence.
• Participate in and/or facilitate participant case staffing’s.
• Monitors all services to clients that are provided by advocates under the supervision of the Shelter/Client Services Manager.
• Provide any and all shelter support as directed by the Supervisor, Program Director, Executive Director or Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

· A master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Social Behavior Sciences, or bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent to 5 or more years’ experience is required to be considered for this position.

· Supervisory Experience required. Ability to review and provide quality checks and assurance on all data system input and reports by Advocates and oneself.

· Culturally competent and exercise cultural awareness, clearly demonstrated in education and/or experience.

· Prior working experience in human services, and or related field

· Non-judgmental toward survivors of DV/SA and their children
