Friends of Foster Children is Hiring a Program Director Near Beach, FL

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with organizational mission and objectives.

  • Conduct needs assessments and research to identify program opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Design program structures, activities, and timelines to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Manage program budgets, including forecasting, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to support program activities and initiatives.
  • Secure funding through grants, sponsorships, donations, or other sources to sustain and expand program operations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for professional development and growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, funders, and community members.
  • Collaborate with other departments or organizations to leverage resources and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Communicate program updates, successes, and challenges to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other means.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess program outcomes and impact.
  • Monitor program activities and progress towards goals, making adjustments as needed to ensure desired results.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure program activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles that may impact program success.
  • Develop contingency plans and procedures to address emergencies or unforeseen challenges.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the program, advocating for its mission and objectives to stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Develop marketing and communication strategies to raise awareness of the program and its impact.
  • Participate in networking events, conferences, and other forums to promote the program and build partnerships.
  • Contribute to organizational strategic planning processes by providing insights and recommendations based on programmatic goals and priorities.
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in the field and adapt program strategies accordingly.

Overall, a Program Director plays a critical role in overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs to achieve organizational goals and make a positive impact on the target audience or community served. They must possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of the program's subject matter and the needs of its stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

Directly reports to the Executive Director

Must have at least 5 years of experience within child welfare with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related human services field.

Ability to work in a team and effectively communicate with the staff, volunteers and community members.

Skilled in decision making and problem solving

Strong written and communication skills

Must be able to work Monday-Friday 9-5 with the ability to work flexible hours if needed for events.

Ability to lift 30 pounds
