Who we are:
Located on Jefferson County Open Space, Dinosaur Ridge is one of the most important paleontology sites on Earth. Our globally iconic site has been ranked by paleontologists as the #1 dinosaur track site in the nation, and one of the most important in the world. Dinosaur Ridge draws 235,000 annual visitors to our outdoor museum to view 300 dinosaur tracks still preserved on the sandstone slope. Dinosaur Ridge was also the site of the first Stegosaurus discovery and was designated National Natural Landmark in 1973. The Friends of Dinosaur Ridge is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1989 with the purpose of preserving the fossils on Dinosaur Ridge and educating the public about the natural history of the area. Our mission was later expanded to include the fossil sites at Triceratops Trail in Golden, Colorado. Our stated core values include professionalism, service, enthusiasm, respect, trust, and integrity. We are open from 9:00am - 5:00pm during our summer season (May-October), and 9:00am - 4:00pm during our winter season (November-April).
Who you are:
The Custodian of Dinosaur Ridge is responsible for keeping the outdoor and indoor facilities of our various facilities neat and tidy, ensuring our visitors and staff enjoy their time at Dinosaur Ridge. Our facilities include the Main Visitor Center, Discovery Center, the Ridge, and Triceratops Trail, which include gift shop spaces, office areas, private and public restrooms, trails, and picnic areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, polishing, dusting, shoveling snow, vacuuming, general landscaping, light construction/repair work, and trash removal.
This position is seasonal for our summer season (May - Early August), and is part-time for 24-32 hours per week.
The custodian reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Duties May Include:

• Servicing, cleaning, and supplying all public and private restrooms.
• Gathering and emptying indoor and outdoor trash as directed.
• Cleaning facility floors, entryways, and common areas, by vacuuming, sweeping, and moping with the appropriate chemicals.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Maintaining custodial equipment.
• Assisting in the setup of equipment or furniture needed for special events.
• Engaging in light landscaping work up to and including de-weeding, mowing, and digging.
• Assisting in light repair/maintenance work as assigned and overseen by the Maintenance Manager.
• Reporting any problems that impact our operations to facilities management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Your must be available on site 3-4 days a week, normally during daytime hours.
• You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
• You must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow directions.
• Possess a State of Colorado Driver's License
• Able to lift 50 pounds, climb a ladder, and shovel.
• Able to bend, walk, reach, and stoop as needed when it comes to sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.

Salary Description

$17 - $19 per hour
