Friends of Cyrus is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) that are dedicated, enthusiastic, creative and experienced professionals to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities that still live at their home. Our participants are looking for support with activities of daily living as well as assistance with community participation.

The DSP is responsible to provide 1:1 support to individuals with developmental disabilities at home and/or in the community. The DSP will provide assistance in helping our individuals maintain/increase independence, dignity, privacy, choice, and individuality.

Responsibilities:

• Complete required training
• Foster and support a safe, positive, supportive and nurturing work environment
• Attend scheduled meetings to discuss client progress goals and individual performance
• Attend training on, and implement behavior support plans as needed
• Support individuals in developing and meeting their service plan goals
• Accurate and timely completion of timesheets and service logs

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma (minimum requirement)
• Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

Training and Other Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Minimum 2-4 year of Human Service Experience
• Experience with personal Care (toileting, bathing)
• Experience with behavior support (managing aggression/self-injury, elopement)
• Professional writing and verbal communication
• Dependable vehicle (to transport the individual to community outings)

Working conditions:

Private residence and/or community-based

Positions available:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday- 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Wednesday 9 AM - 5 PM
