The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is currently recruiting for a Design Technician (AutoCAD) for the Engineering Services section of the District. Duties include, but not limited to, the preparation of AutoCAD design and drafting of plans, reports, maps, contract specifications, and cost estimates. Use of ArcGIS to verify and collect as-built information for future projects with outside agencies. Assist in and/or conduct computation, collection and crediting of prepaid drainage assessments, maintenance of prepaid drainage assessment files and records, along with interpreting various drainage fee ordinances and other flood control requirements and regulations to the public. Will prepare Board exhibits/reports and assist with legal descriptions for easements and basin acquisitions. Perform special studies and other projects as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus experience with AutoCAD. Applicants must be capable of performing routine mathematical calculations required for estimating, surveying, and other engineering tasks. Design Technician I requires one (1) year of related experience. Design Technician II requires two (2) years of related experience, including at least one year experience at a level commensurate with the Design Technician I position. A valid California Driver License is required.
Substitution: An Associate's Degree or equivalent with specialization in engineering, drafting, surveying, or mapping may be substituted for up to one year of the experience requirement.
