Construction Laborer

Construction Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general project duties at the project site

Specific duties:

• Works on the ground assisting equipment operators in performance of common grading, storm / utility installations, seeding, matting, and other required work.

• Performs a variety of general labor tasks as required for the job.

• Occasional operation of skid steer or similar small construction equipment.

• Performs work on various types of terrain, evaluating requirements for assigned work.

• Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.

• Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Safety Training and ability to follow Rules and Regulations

• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

• Accuracy in work/use of hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment

• Strong communication skills to coordinate work flow with production operator

• Listening skills, comprehending, and following directions either verbally and / or written accurately

• Time management to include:

o Meeting work goals and deadlines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

• Driver’s license (Preferred)

Physical requirements and environment:

• Must be able to move materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds

• Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation required

• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, ladder and stair climbing and occasional crawling and twisting are a must to perform the basic functions of the job

• Follow instructions as directed by foreman/superintendent.

• Must be able to follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Anticipated Rate: $16-$19 per hour based upon experience

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
