Ensure maximum efficiency while at all times maintaining the highest standards of company specifications. Provide training and motivation to team members using recognition, positive feedback, and other rewards with appropriate discretion in a continuous improvement environment. Follow all health and safety standards and enforce the use of PPE’s. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo ensure the full implementation of ‘Safety Systems’To identify and effectively resolve any problems affecting performance within the DepartmentMaximize the efficiency of the department and ensure Daily Production plan targets are attainedMaintain the highest standards of hygiene, both within the department and all surrounding areasEnsure that ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ as indicated by product specifications or other media is adhered to all times and stages of the processAnalyze ‘Downtime’ ensuring proper explanation of the reasons for ‘Lost’ production, and liaise with other Departments/Plant Managers on addressing the resulting issuesEffectively manage the labor resource within the given budgets/targets for required outputDeal with staff issues of discipline, grievance, and welfare within the guidelines laid out in the Company’s published policies and proceduresPromote ‘Quality’ within the department by positively reinforcing the Company’s quality ethos and encouraging a ‘right first time, every time' approachEnsure compliance with Food Safety and Quality standards as identified on Product Specifications, isolate and address any non-conformances, and monitor measures designed to maintain and improve standards Elevate critical issues to appropriate QA LeadershipEnsure ‘Process Control’ systems are properly implemented and maintainedEnsure department Associates are properly trained and encouraged to meet high standardsMaintain and not exceed departmental budgetsEnsure effective communications at all levels and complete all necessary administrative workQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBSkills and RequirementsManufacturing experience in fresh food is preferableKnowledge of large-scale business start-ups is preferredDemonstrated ability at being a team playerExperience working in a continuous improvement environment and demonstrated delivery through changeCertified and/or trained in OSHA requirements, HACCP, SDS, First Aid/CPR, and Food HygieneAbility to motivate others to work routine and monotonous processes and stand for extended periods of timeMust have an excellent understanding of English, bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills are helpfulAbility to work in a cold/damp environment and stand for extended periodsExperience / EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent educationAdvanced education in Food Safety or Culinary Arts is preferredA Minimum (1) year of experience in a first-level production management role, preferably in a chilled food environment within a fast-paced businessExperience working in a fresh food manufacturing environment using common processes, procedures, and equipment1 year or more experience applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a food environment is essentialWhat We OfferComprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including medical, dental, vision, pet insurance and legal insurance401(k) with company match that is immediately vestedLife and ADD insuranceOpportunities for career growth with a dynamic company that is changing the landscape of fresh meals.Unlimited paid time off Our Values at WorkWe believe that ACTIONS speak louder than words and our company values align to those ACTIONS.In Our Daily Work, This Looks LikeACCOUNTABILITY: Set clear objectives and prioritize your tasks Hold yourself and your teams accountable for meeting deadlines Learn from your mistakes and use it as a learning opportunity to improve next timeCHALLENGE WITH CURIOSITY: We challenge and engage with each other through curiosity and a drive to innovate and transform.
