ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Finance Planning Manager, the Senior FP&A Analyst will be a key member of the Accounting & Finance (“A&F”) Team. This individual will primarily focus on supporting the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) function within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Finance team during a period of growth, with opportunities to collaborate internally and externally. The role will involve:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist in annual financial planning and periodic updates to budgets and forecasts.
  • Support revenue management initiatives and pricing strategies in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Analyze financial and operational results to provide insights into company performance.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting Team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Cost Management

  • Assist in identifying areas for cost optimization and process efficiencies in collaboration with Finance leadership.

Pricing & Revenue Management

  • Support in the company's pricing architecture, end-to-end process, commercial margin, and competitors Analysis.
  • Ensuring integrity and accuracy for the data in the company system (BMS).

Cash Flow

  • Contribute to cash-flow forecasting processes to support treasury management decisions.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support junior team members.
  • Develop Dashboards and control reports to keep track of the main KPI`s.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at modernizing and automating finance systems and processes.
  • Support risk management assessments and other ad hoc projects as needed

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Motivated individual with at least 4-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis roles.
  • Vancouver-based candidate preferred, willing to work from downtown office at least part-time.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Master analysis methods, including Price, Cost, Volume and Mix sensitivity analysis, and project variance calculation.
  • Optimize IT tools, identify IT champions, understand available data, and automate non-value-added tasks using Excel and BI skills.
  • Understand accounting basics, including general principles, revenue recognition, accounting policies, and cost accounting methods.
  • Lead the budget process, framing assumptions and methods, utilizing various budgeting and forecasting methods, and ensuring consistency between strategic and operative goals.
  • Excel as a finance business partner by understanding operational goals, integrating non-finance data for insights, managing priorities, and explaining finance to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Master storytelling by acquiring the right data, visualizing ideas effectively, confidently support leading finance presentations, and ensuring clear communication of messages.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, financial planning software and Power BI or any other BI software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage workloads effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
