Fresh n' Lean is Hiring a Quality Assurance Food Safety Technician I Near Moosic, PA

Description

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician has the primary responsibility for protecting the food by conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing, and documentation to meet all regulatory, customer and company requirements. The QA Technician is responsible for conducting food safety and quality assurance procedures document review to ensure the Company is in compliance with best practices for food safety and quality. 

All employees are responsible to follow all of Nutrition Corp. protocols of Food Safety.

Essential Functions: 

• Responsible for meeting all applicable food regulations (National, state, and local)

• Responsible for sampling, testing, and documentation of the Quality Systems including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing

• Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)

• Perform pre-operative procedure.

• Perform corrective actions as recommended on a weekly basis.

• Strict adherence to GMPs and SSOP monitoring activities.

• Works to maintain the safety, legality and quality of each food and the processes used in their manufacture

• Reports food safety and quality issues to supervisors

• Provide coverage for quality employees when necessary.

• Able to use the following instrumentation/measuring devices: Thermometers, Calculators and Scales.

• Ensures appropriate communication of food safety and QA issues with supervisors

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions or airborne particles and extreme cold.

• The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud

• Ability to work different shifts and weekends

Physical Demands:

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Regularly required to climb, stand or walk for extended periods of time

• Use a computer keyboard and monitor

• Ability to stand, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach. Lift/push and pull up to 50 lbs. Work in cold/hot environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Sunday.

Days and hours are subject to change depending on Company needs.

Requirements

Required Education:

The education, technical qualifications, experience are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• 0-2 years’ experience in a similar role

• Effective work ethic and good communication skills

• High School Diploma, some college science courses or experience in the food industry (Preferred)

• Good writing, mathematical and critical thinking skills

• Experience in computers including spreadsheets (Preferred)

• Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) and GMP (Preferred)

• Training in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) such as BRC or SQF (Preferred)

• PCQI (Preferred)

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Authorized to work in the USA
