Job Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic Camp Assistants to join our team for an exciting summer camp program. Camp Assistants will be responsible for supervising and engaging campers in various activities, fostering a safe and positive environment, and creating memorable experiences for children.

Duties:

• In coordination with other camp staff, set up and implement group activities, including leading small group activities as assigned.
• Always supervise students, coordinating breaks and lunch with the Group Leader, so that students are always supervised, ensuring student safety in all situations.
• Actively engage with campers to support social-emotional learning, facilitate peer-to-peer interactions and support campers in developmentally appropriate ways.
• Plan and support all-camp meetings in collaboration with other camp staff.
• Enthusiastic participation in leadership of camp activities.
• Reinforce goals and routines for the group community, as well as goals for the social and emotional development of the campers.
• Adherence to school and Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families licensing policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• At least one years’ experience and confidence working with relevant children - babysitting, summer camp, or other volunteer work is acceptable.
• Camp d’été and Classe Aventure assistants must be French speaking.
• Demonstrated skills in student/child group management.
• Demonstrates beginner to intermediate leadership skills.
• Motivation and enthusiasm while working with students in an educational setting.
• Patience and ability to connect with students of different ages and backgrounds.
• Experience with group management strategies and Positive Discipline techniques.
• WA State Food Handler Permit or the acquiring thereof prior to camp start.
• Background in daycare, special education, or related fields is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
