Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Land Survey Party Chief to lead our field survey teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing field survey operations, demonstrating leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. This role is critical in ensuring the successful execution of land survey projects, from initial planning through to data delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the activities of a land survey field crew.
  • Plan, organize, and execute field surveys for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of surveying instruments and equipment, including total stations, GPS, and levels.
  • Analyze and review survey data, including notes, drawings, and geodetic measurements to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements effectively.
  • Implement and oversee safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the survey team.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional growth.
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring all records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency with surveying software and data collection methods.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with team members, management, and clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
