Established in 1999, Freire Schools (www.freireschools.org) is a network of four charter schools across Philadelphia and Delaware whose mission is to prepare students from historically underserved communities for success in college and beyond. About the team
For this African American Studies Teacher (History Teacher) position, you'll be working for our high school in north Philadelphia called TECH Freire Charter School (9th-12th Grade): TECH Freire reimagines the college prep high school by blending state-of-the-art equipment and hands-on learning with the rigor of the time-tested Freire Schools liberal arts program to help each of our students truly thrive. We have a culture that demands excellence from our students while providing them the supports they need to achieve at high levels and prepare for college. 100% of TECH Freire's Class of 2023 were accepted to at least 63 colleges and universities and earned over $4 million in college scholarships and aid. As a member of Freire's instructional team, you'll work with high-quality, standard aligned curriculum to push critical thinking and high achievement in your classroom. You'll empower students through the exploration of African American history, culture, and social issues while cultivating a supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes social justice.

The annual salary range for this role is $48,000 - $85,000. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire's 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.
