Summary
It is the responsibility of the Supervisor Operations to lead, supervise, and support the Region's driving operations and vehicle, trailer and forklift fleet. The Supervisor will administer the maintenance program for vehicles, trailers and forklifts; maintain driver qualification files, and administer the ELD program, while assisting the branch in complying with DOT and FMCSA regulations. The Supervisor works with employees to ensure they follow all federal and state laws and regulations along with company policies. Coordinates the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents. Primary contact for third party lease and rental providers, responsible for tracking rental/lease and associated maintenance costs. The position assists in ensuring we maintain reputable safety scores through the FMCSA/CSA. Responsible for maintaining a systematic compliant process while housing files and records for company owned, rented, or leased equipment. The Supervisor of Operations will also support local branch procurement efforts in the Warehouse, maintaining vendor relationships, entering Purchase Requisitions and assisting in sourcing materials and services for production in the shops and maintenance of the facility.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show site based out of Anaheim, CA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Train team members, appraise performance, reward, and discipline team members. Participate in the hiring and firing decisions as required.
- Plan, organize, and direct maintenance program vendors for vehicles, trailers and forklifts and pallet jacks to keep the fleet running and in compliance with Federal and California laws and regulations to ensure safety and DOT and FMCSA compliance.
- Monitor ELDs and driver compliance and use of the tool.
- Monitor driver hours of service compliance on a daily basis and inform department supervisors, managers and schedulers about any HOS concerns.
- Assist in maintaining Driver Qualification files, driver records and in driver training
- Interpret DOT, FMCSA and CHP rules and regulations to the driving team
- Recommend measures to improve safety and regulatory compliance
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or crew.
- Track trailer location and use in the region.
- Lead operations team members in maintaining high morale and work standards and build teamwork within and across departments.
- Support local procurement for the Operations Department, WH Operations and the facility. Source vendors, materials and services, enter purchase requisitions, approve invoices and assist in budget adherence.
- Maintain local records for the vehicle fleet and DQ files on the J.J. Keller platform.
- Ensure operations team members comply with company policies and adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Prepare initial accident reports in accordance with the Risk Management Manual.
- Ensure operations equipment is well maintained and that housekeeping meets company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Two years of supervisory experience.
- Two years of Freight, Transportation Compliance or Logistics Operations experience, preferably supervising CDL drivers and vehicle maintenance programs.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ability to learn and use multiple applications such as COUPA and JJ Keller platforms.
