Activities Assistant

Full Time: Monday – Friday

Periodic evenings or weekends

The Freedom Plaza Activities Assistant works with the Director of Activities in planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activities for residents, ensuring that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of our residents are met.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assists in the development, planning, and implementing of the monthly activities calendar that provides a variety of activities that will stimulate interest by the residents, including but not limited to, entertainment, relaxation, and education.
• Assists the Activity Director in development of the monthly newsletter that is used as an information tool for residents and families in addition to being a marketing tool for the community.
• Assists in coordinating scheduled activities with other departments, sometimes dovetailing with marketing.
• Excellent writing and editing, communication, and interpersonal skills. A background of creative writing is a plus.
• Must be able to multitask and work with frequent interruptions with adherence to deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team to prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Skills to exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents, their family members, and staff.
• Skillful in arts/crafts/music is a plus.

Qualifications:

1 years of activity development, planning and execution.

A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Strong creative thinking skills are required.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse group of people.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Project management skills and an ability to multi-task and prioritize frequently changing needs.

Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion.

Work as a team player with Team Members at all levels.

Must have a fingerprint clearance card

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week

Experience:

• Life Enrichment Specialists: 1 year (Preferred)
• Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
