Maintenance Specialist

Purpose:

The primary role of the Maintenance Specialist is to identify, prevent, monitor, detect, and resolve risks to the organization’s safety, security, and sanitation environments to avoid and mitigate compromised conditions and advise how to prevent and maintain efficiency under the direction of the Director of Cultivation. Implement safety policies, regulations, rules, and trainings, to ensure the environment is maintained for the organization, employees and visitors. Maintain building, grounds, office, and common areas of organization. Conduct routine inspections of the facility and perform preventative maintenance and sanitation activities.

Responsibilities

• Hands on position for maintenance
• Maintain premises by conducting routine inspections, monitoring equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Performing preventative maintenance.
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
• Provide grounds keeping maintenance such as landscaping and snow removal.
• Develop and Implement Safety, Maintenance, and Emergency Response protocols and procedures.
• Conduct Maintenance, audits and assessments and evaluate for effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and prepare maintenance audit data by compiling and analyzing internal and external information
• Knowledge of safety procedures with the ability to execute in situations that occur in any area of the facility.
• Prepare demonstrations, presentations, drills, and training for all new and current employees as required for maintenance of the facility.
• Understand all company compliance measures and adhere to the highest standards of the industry.
• Ensure the workplace is free from serious recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules, and regulations issued under the OSHA Act.
• Examine workplace conditions to make sure they conform to applicable OSHA standards.
• Enforce adherence to standards, policies, procedures and requirements as well as advise management on needed actions.
• Organize and Prepare a systematic approach to the cleaning, repair, and maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and related facilities.
• Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance to ensure the facility is always sanitary. Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, breakroom, locker rooms, offices.
• Pick up and deliver supplies and materials as needed
• Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, and minor equipment.
• Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, and maintaining personal networks.
• Other duties or tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven maintenance experience
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
• Knowledge of grow facility & office practices/procedures
• Ability to prioritize, plan and organize work
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company business

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
