Description

Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving in a friendly and efficient manner. You play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our Guests' needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed. familiarizing guests with menu and daily specials, accurately recording food and drink orders, running multi-course meals, and tallying bills.

  • Making coffee or tea as needed
  • Ensuring assigned work area is neat, clean and sanitized throughout shift by wiping tables, counter areas, beverage stations, sinks, and sweeping and mopping floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Partnering with culinary team and server to work as a team to ensure coordinated work flow during shift to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining all equipment in proper fashion (coffee machines, soda and juice dispensers, ice bins), service stations, and refrigerators
  • Follows that all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and property-wide controls are enforced within the department
  • Assists with the preparation and movement of tables based on business levels
  • Prepares service stations and service equipment
  • Polishes glassware, silverware and china
  • Has the ability to speak at length with guests about the food and beverage selections, aiding their decision-making process
  • When working in a team format, assumes a leadership role, delegating tasks always with the guest experience in mind
  • Professionally handle enquiries billing and payment of bills in compliance with Encore Boston Harbor’s established policies and procedures
  • Strictly adhere to Fredonia Hospitality established policies and procedures with regard to the handling of payments, credit, house funds and shift hand over
  • Attend pre-shift meetings (line-up)
  • Greet and/or acknowledge guests within 45 seconds, engage in polite conversation, answer questions, and offer information on all menu items, beverage items and daily offerings (specials, etc)
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu offerings and preparation techniques, including dietary restriction information
  • Be knowledgeable with regards to operating hours of Wicked Weed Brewing locations, brewery tours and any promotions/events
  • Take food orders, expediting food, Use seat numbers and pivot points
  • Follow up with guests using two minute/two bite check-back rule
  • Advise GM or MOD of any VIP’s or special requests of guests
  • Cut off individuals when necessary & communicate to GM and/or FOH MOD
  • Accurately tender money and give change for purchases
  • Complete opening setup, maintain running side work and complete closing duties and light cleaning projects as needed
  • Maintain clean and organized work area / service station
  • Stock service area with supplies and bus tables
  • Must have a flexible schedule (nights, weekends and holidays are required)
  • Maintain Board of Health standards of sanitation and personal hygiene and cleanliness, beverage service techniques and safety all with regard to the safe handling of food and beverage products for guests’ consumption
  • Greets and welcomes each guest seated in assigned station
  • Takes food and beverage orders, delivers prepared food promptly, and checks with table periodically to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintains current and accurate information regarding menu (i.e., preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients and plate presentation)

Requirements

  • Have a friendly and courteous attitude toward guests and members
  • Previous fine dining room and server experience is a plus
  • Minimum of one year of serving experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant operation
  • Previous customer service experience a definite asset
  • Minimum 2 yrs experience in a full service food and beverage facility
  • Beer, wine, and spirits knowledge with the ability to make recommendations to guests
  • Perform procedures for the ordering process from the initial greeting to the check presentation in accordance with the timing standards set forth by the company
  • One year experience serving in a fine dining establishment
  • Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • This position requires an open and flexible schedule that includes evening, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Previous fine-dining server experience a plus
